THE HOSPITAL ACTIVITY BOOK FOR CHILDREN The Hospital Activity Book for Children began in 1995 as an idea when their publishing company was donating children’s videos and books to the local hospital. They noticed how important it was to keep children’s minds occupied at a very difficult time. The book became an instant success through community and business support. The book distribution base has expanded over the years to include hospitals, medical service units, pediatric centres, victim service units and many other services – wherever kids are in need of a healthy distraction during a challenging time. The Hospital Activity Book for Children has been successful for over 25 years because of the generous support of sponsors and local businesses within the community. The activity books are distributed within designated regions, keeping the sponsorships local and relevant to the businesses who support this book. Sponsoring businesses are given the opportunity to include their well wishes to the children, acknowledging their support to the families in care.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED Learn how to support this cause and brighten the kid's days. We at Carter Cadillac are always eager to support everyone local, and if we can help offer support, help, and a distraction during the challenging times we have all been facing, we most certainly will!
SUPPORTING THE CALGARY MS SOCIETY The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is an organization founded by volunteers and continually fueled by the initiative and dedication of thousands of volunteers across the country. With support from the citizens of Calgary and organizations like Carter Cadillac, the MS Society of Canada is committed to improving the lives of Canadians with multiple sclerosis and accelerating the high-quality research that could end MS.This year the Carter group walked 13 km on the coldest day in February from Jack Carter Chevrolet’s dealership up the hill to Carter Cadillac. MAKING HISTORY COME ALIVE WITH HERITAGE PARK The Famous 5 Centre of Canadian Women is the newest edition to Heritage Park. The Tudor Revival-style house, graciously donated by Peter and Adele McKeen is used to feature and share the stories of the famous 5 group of Albertan women and other Canadian women who made history. The famous 5 consists of the victorious Nellie McClung, Irene Parlby, Louise McKinney, Henrietta Muir Edwards and Emily Murphy. These brave women petitioned and won the right for women to be recognized as “Persons” under the British North America Act in 1929. This centre was designed as a replicated version of Nellie McClung’s vintage, yet charming house, which now serves as an refined venue to host dinner parties and elegant receptions at the park.

GIVING BACK WITH THE MUSTARD SEED The Mustard Seed has been aiding those facing and experiencing poverty in Alberta for decades. Over the years The Mustard Seed has expanded across western Canada with multiple locations in Alberta and British Columbia. The charity offers an expansive range of programs and services by providing basic needs (food, clothing, and hygiene items), education, employment programs, health and wellness services, spiritual care, housing, and emergency shelter. The Carter group greatly supports the charity’s mission to support those in need. We have sponsored events such as The Desjardins Golf Tournament in support of The Mustard Seed to help raise money for the worthy cause. The players at the gold tournament had the opportunity to a win a 48 month lease on a new 2019 Cadillac Escalade by getting a hole-in-one. Unfortunately, there was no lucky winner, but we auctioned off the vehicle so someone could enjoy a new vehicle all while raising money.
OUR SUPPORT DOESN'T STOP THERE The Carter group also raises and donates money for The Mustard Seed annually, holding a food drive for the charity and put together hampers filled with toys for the children. We're proud to provide outreach vehicles for the Mustard Seed so they are able to properly educate the Calgary community on the services they can provide and raise awareness of the prominent issue of poverty.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED Join us in participating in your own company hamper drives, make individual or group donations, or give your time through volunteer opportunities to The Mustard Seed to improve the services available to other Calgarians when they need it most. Learn more about the services they provide here and learn how you can help The Mustard Seed in your own way.
